"The public transport is my mode of transport. The incident that I am going to relate happened several years ago but it isdeeply engraved in my mind.

It was the evening peak hour and a young man (around 30 years old) dressed in office attire was on board the MRT train with his young daughter, (about 3 old?) and a pram; they had two seats, as expected. When my husband and I boarded the train (I think was at Clark Quay), the train was getting crowded.What the man did next was spectacular. He put his sleepy daughter in the pram, pulled down the pram cover, gave her a milk bottle and told her to sleep. He then indicated to one of us to have the seat. He picked up his stack of notes and continue his study. They were still on the train when we disembarked at Kovan.

Such act is selfless and remarkable. How many times have we seen people ‘choping’ seats that they do not need on trains & buses? Moreover, he had so many things with him to juggle. He is indeed setting a great example for his daughter. From my observation, I believe his act of kindness is habitual – his daughter did not kick up a fuss over the loss of her seat. His act kindness gives us Hope for the Future of mankind."
