Who we are destined to be, is who we decide to be.
I was just by the market one day and can't stop myself from noticing a strong and melodious voice resounding across the market. One would have expected to find a seasoned busker who has set up his area just by the fringe of the market. As I followed the voice, what greeted me touched my heart deeply. There he was, a guy in his mid 40s, holding on to a mic singing with passion and determination as he walked through the crowd in the midst of the market hawker. This was not just any busker, he was hobbling along with a speaker on a trolley with a small collection box for donations which he pushed with his left hand, his right hand holding a mic, and below his left arm he was holding on to a set of crutches. The crutches because his left leg was disabled. Yet step by step, he persevered as he traversed the market, garnering donations. I reached over to drop a donation into his collection box. He smiled, and I smiled and gave him a nod of affirmation. It was an unfortunate turn of events in life that handed him the disability, but he decided to stand tall and still strive for the best. Truly an inspiration to all of us.
