Taxi Driver Lee

One day that I was post call (ie a 24hr shift), this taxi driver who picked me up displayed an bubbly and enthusiastic outlook. He started sharing with me how everyone can do their part in the community. Doctors and nurses can go on to save lives with what they do but not just that, everyone can play their role. 

In fact, he shared with me that every little thing that we do can be of contribution for the greater good of Singapore. He elaborated that there was this doctor that he used to fetch on a daily basis to and fro hospital and he saw that there were days that this doctor used to crash into the back of the taxi, completely worn out, and he made a resolution, to waive the on call fee for this person as he believed that he can help to do his part in this medical industry. For him, even though he is the sole bread winner for his family, he still decided to allocate part of his earnings back to society. It was a heart warming moment.
